Sean BeanHis comments about the drawbacks of working as an intimacy coordinator have been criticized.

It Game of Thrones alum recently said that he’d hesitate to work with an intimacy coordinator because it might impact his performance. “It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things,” Bean told the Sunday TimesAccording to Variety. “Somebody saying, ‘Do this, put your hands there, while you touch his thing…'”

Bean indicated that Bean was particularly aware of this when filming a scene in sex. Snowpiercer co-star Lena Hall for the TV series, the pair opted to forego using an intimacy coordinator, which he feels resulted in a better outcome. Their work is often censored because it pushes the limits and has an experimental nature. This is a beautiful scene. It’s surreal and dreamlike, abstract.

Bean admitted that certain actresses may prefer to work with a coordinator. But in the case Hall, he stated, “[Hall] had a musical cabaret background, so she was up for anything.”
