On Jan. 3, 2004, she thought marrying her childhood pal Jason “Not of Seinfeld Fame” Alexander in Las Vegas seemed like a grand idea.
After some New Year’s partying that included sharing a kiss with one of her female dancers and flying Alexander into town from Louisiana via private jet, at around 5 a.m. Britney and Jason tied the knot. Although no one knew this guy before the night, Alexander revealed to ABC News in 2012 that Brit and Alexander had been friends back when Brit was still dating Justin Timberlake.
When the singer said “Well, let’s get wed ‘…”, I replied, “Sure. He said, “You know what, let’s get married.” Alexander stated, “I followed my heart,” Alexander continued. Alexander said, “I fell in love with her…I felt like she felt exactly the same.”
They married for 55 hours. Britney was found to have “lacked understanding” of her actions and therefore, could not agree to be married.
CelebHomes News’ Britney stated that in March 2004, she was “just being silly, rebellious and not really accepting responsibility for the actions I took, you know?” You don’t even think about your actions after you have had a good time. It was one of those silly things.
Then she said, “I thought I was running from something.” The answer was not clear. I’m still learning and trying to figure out what it was. However, I believe I am more at peace. Being alone is something I enjoy, I believe. I enjoy reading books. Right now, I am a very quiet person. So it is great to come back and feel the same as before.
