Jack Sparrow isn’t likely to return to the big screen anytime soon. 

Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer weighed in on Johnny DeppAn interview was conducted with him about his future involvement in the franchise. The Sunday TimesOn May 15, Depp played Sparrow in all five movies, the latest one being the 2017 film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. 

Bruckheimer has two additional films in the pipeline. Bruckheimer answered the question of whether Depp would be coming back to film, telling the publication “Not at this time.” “The future of the film is still to be determined.”

Depp is currently involved in a $50 Million defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, accusing her of ruining his reputation with fabricated claims of domestic abuse outlined in a Washington Post She wrote the essay in 2018. Heard brought a $100-million countersuit against Depp. He claimed that he had defamed his client by calling the allegations made by her an “elaborate hoax” and had misled her.
