Cody sharing his story comes just a few weeks after his fiancée spoke about it—with his permission—in a July 22 TikTok.
“After many many years of struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, Cody hit a rock-bottom and he was homeless,” Mikayla said. He had a very old, beat down truck that was his only possession and began to live in it. Every day he’d drink and consume alcohol until he was completely numb.
Mikayla stated that Cody is now living a sober lifestyle after his treatment. They continue “to work on his sobriety every single day” together and as partners.
Mikayla claimed that Cody lived in a truck and sold it for her to get her ring. According to Mikayla, “that truck is the most important to him. It transferred to me.” He made me the most important person in his life …. Just the thought that somebody would do such a thing for me is amazing. Cody still shows me daily why he chose that, how he loves and is excited about the future.
