Scully began calling Dodgers games in 1950 while the team was still in Brooklyn. In 1953, Scully became the youngest person to broadcast a World Series game at the age of 25—a historic feat that still remains. From 1953 to 2016, he would be broadcasting the World Series games for an unprecedented 67 consecutive seasons.
 
2016: Scully received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Barack Obama. Obama stated that “The game baseball has some signature sounds.” during the ceremony. You can hear the crackle of the bat. The crowd was singing the seventh inning stretch and now you have Vin Scully’s voice.”
 
Scully’s three remaining children are his eldest son, who died in 1994, two stepchildren and 16 grandchildren. He also has three great-grandchildren.
