The band also includes a number of musicians who say, “Being out on the road together with our fans, it is our greatest joy. So, it was a difficult but important decision to take.” Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood, wrote in a statement posted to Instagram on Aug. 4. “We are a band, but more importantly…we’re family.”
The group continued, “We’re proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety. So right now in order to be the healthiest, strongestAnd most creative band we can be, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and team of professionals to walk through this together.”
Lady A said that while postponing the tour was not an easy decision, it was the right choice for the group. Lady A stated, “It’s too early to be on this road” but continued that “we are determined to do the best thing for us all so we can enjoy many more years together.”
