Jamie Campbell Bower is thankful to be where he is today.

Bower said that he was an active addict 12 and a-half years back. tweeted. “Hurting my loved ones and myself. My mental illness got worse and I had to go into a hospital. Today, 7 1/2 years later, I am clean and sober.
 
He shared his 33-year old story, saying that despite having “made many mistakes in my life”, he sees each day as an opportunity to grow. “For anyone who wakes up thinking, ‘oh god not again,’ I promise you there’s a way,” he wrote. “I am so thankful to be here, and I am so grateful that I can be sober. Thankful to be where I am. We are all still learning.

The Twilight alum has been candid about his personal battles, especially in the music he wrote as frontman of the former London-based band Counterfeit.
