Kylie JennerCelebrated Virgil Abloh‘s legacy at the 2022 Met Gala.

For the annual event, held May 2 at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul wore a white bridal-themed look, designed by Virgil’s Off-White brand. After attending the gala, Kylie posted on Instagram that “virgil was supposed to accompany me to the Met before it was postponed for 2020.” I’m honored to be able to honor my beautiful, talented friend by wearing this gown.

Her note concluded, “We felt you tonight Virgil. We love you forever.” “& thank u to the entire @off____white team !!”

Virgil, the beloved designer and artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection, died in November at the age of 41 after battling cancer. A message posted by Virgil to his Instagram account in November stated that he chose to live with his cancer battle, despite undergoing many difficult treatments and overseeing numerous institutions that encompass fashion, art and culture. He never lost his optimism, endless curiosity, or work ethic through all of it.

Kylie and the Off-White team worked together to create the Met Gala gown called the “Poetry Dress” in his honor.
