Rich Nichols, a representative from Solo’s legal team, previously told CelebHomes News in a statement that the athlete “can’t speak about this situation” on the advice of her counsel, but “wants everyone to know that her kids are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is more sympathetic than the initial charges suggest, and that she looks forward to her opportunity to defend these charges.”

This arrest was almost eight years after Solo had been charged with misdemeanor assault in fourth degree. One count was against Solo’s half-sister, the other against Solo’s nephew. The incident took place at Solo’s home just outside Seattle. Solo plead not guilty and the charges were dropped after neither victim agreed to cooperate.

Solo was elected into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in January alongside fellow players Shannon BoxxClint DempseyMarco EtcheverryLinda Hamilton and referee Esse Baharmast.

The ceremony of induction for 2022 is set to be held in Frisco on May 21, in Texas.
