Academy Award winning actress, Hilary Swank, the star of Million Dollar Baby and Amelia recently listed her Pacific Palisades home for $9.5 million. Swank bought the property at 439 Paseo Miramar, Pacific Palisades, CA in 2007 for $5.8 million, according to property records. Since then she has remodeled and restored the 1928 Mediterranean style home with the help of Marc Appleton and Associates and along with designer Mark Zeff.

With a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and downtown Los Angeles skyline, the 6,722 square foot home sits on a third of an acre. The six bedroom and seven bath home has beamed ceilings, hardwood floors and wrought iron details. The master suite includes a walk in  closet, huge bathroom and a walk out terrace. The elegant home also has a gym and guest room.

The backyard area has a saltwater pool, private spa and a poolside cabana. There is also an outdoor kitchen and barbecue station with a dining area for entertaining.

There is even a personal theater outfitted with 17 custom leather recliners and a complete state of the art surround sound system for watching all of her movies no doubt. Its no wonder since Swank belongs among the ranks of some of the best, including Vivien Leigh, Helen Hayes, Sally Field and Luise Rainer as the only actresses to have been nominated for Academy Awards twice and win both times. Swank won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Brandon Teena in Boys Don’t Cry (1999), and as the struggling waitress turned boxer Maggie Fitzgerald in Million Dollar Baby (2004).

Swank bought the house around the time her and John Campisi started dating. The couple split up last May which could be the reason she has put the beautiful estate on the market. Whatever her reason it needs to be noted that she restored the home to its original beauty and elegance.
