Academy Award nominee director Ridley ScottHe believes he is able to explain why his recent project failed.The Last DuelIt was unable to compete with the other box-office competitors.
 
The latest episode of “The View” featured an interview with the director, which addressed the films’ less than ideal grossing figures. Marc Maron‘s What the Heck? podcast. Although it received rave reviews by critics, The Last Duel—a movie released in mid-October starring Matt Damon, Ben AffleckAnd Jodie Comer—only raked in $28 million against a production budget of $100 million.
 
“Disney did a fantastic promotion job,” Scott said of the movie’s production studios, adding that “the bosses loved the movie… I was concerned it was not for them.”
 
Ridley believes that there might be an underlying reason for sales declines. Ridley stated that “I think it boils down” to this. “What we have today [are]The audiences that were raised on these f—king smartphones. The millennian [sic]Do not want to learn anything except if it’s on a cell phone.
