Musicians are mourning the passing of an iconic figure.
Andy FletcherThe keyboard player, and founder of Depeche ModeAt the age 60, he died.
He was joined by his bandmates, who shared the sad news with them in a public statement on May 26. on Twitter, “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.”
They added: “Fletch was a man of great heart and always available when you needed him. He had an infectious laugh that made everyone smile. His family is in our thoughts. Please keep them in your prayers and protect their privacy during this time.
The cause of death could not be determined.
Fletcher founded the British electronic group in 1980. Dave Gahan, Martin Gore Vince Clarke. Fletcher was a loyal member of the band over forty years. This includes their 1981 debut. Speak & SpellTheir most recent album 2017, Spirit.
