Taylor Swift & More Celebrities React After Roe v. Wade Decision
The Supreme Court reversed Roe V. Wade’s protection of a woman’s constitutional right for an abortion. Companies have reacted to this decision.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, brands including Disney, Netflix, Comcast, Paramount, Warner Bros, Discovery, Sony, WME, CAA and UTA are assuring employees that they will cover travel costs for those journeying out of state for abortions.
Netflix stated that it will offer $10,000 per year travel reimbursement to full-time U.S. workers for treatment and transplants.
Disney stated that employees who are unable to obtain a service in their home location, such as abortions or medical treatment, have access to a travel insurance plan which allows them to receive similar care at a lower cost.
Paramount has a CEO Bob Bakish reportedly sent employees an email June 24 in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling. He wrote that “in all of the country,” it was a time of “profound uncertainty.” Paramount is not going to change in the face of all this uncertainty.
