Chris Daughtry is speaking out two months after the death of his 25-year-old stepdaughter, Hannah Price.
In a joint statement with his wife, Deanna DaughtryIt is the American IdolAccording to alums, officials recently concluded that Hannah committed suicide in November 2012.
The statement stated that Hannah was diagnosed with mental illness at a very young age and had to go to therapy. Hannah struggled with her mental illness as she grew older and started using drugs. She also found herself in abusive relationships.
According to the family, Hannah, who had lost her biological father by suicide a few months earlier, was the victim in a crime that resulted in Hannah being shot in the head. We tried our best to help her, get the support she required and to get her back on track. Hannah had recently been given permission to move to her family and seek additional treatment.
