Bachelor Nation’s Cam Ayala is taking his recovery from leg amputation surgery in stride, with the support of his loved ones.
Last week, the 33-year-old native of Austin, Texas had his right leg amputated after a lifelong struggle with lymphedema, an incurable disease in which fluid build ups in soft body tissues, causing swelling in limbs. In the weeks since, he shared photos and videos on Instagram of his healing process, including video clips with friends visiting him in hospital. He is currently using his father’s walker to practice walking.

Ayala who was in the running for Hannah Brown‘s heart on season 15 of Bachelorette2019 and subsequent appearances Bachelor in ParadiseThat year, he also shared a video showing himself walking the next day after his surgery.
