“I want to get away. I wanna flyyyyyyyy awayyyyyy” is what Lenny Kravitz may’ve sung as a child while living in a 6-unit apartment building in Brooklyn. All children eventually want to move out of their parents’s or grandparents’s house. And so Lenny Kravitz has. He didn’t waste any time with music and getting his foot through the door, literally! Kravitz eventually expanded his palate to acting. He can be seen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Lee Daniels’ The Butler. Lenny Kravitz is set to start alongside on-screen legend, Christopher Walken, in a drama about a dysfunctional family of musicians.

Who knows. Perhaps Lenny can’t stand living away from home and decided to produce his most recent album, Strut, somewhere in the city or near his former two story childhood home on Throop Ave. It’s a 3 bed and 2 bath that’s currently in the remodeling phase. But, it has many windows that open up to various views and is just a few blocks away from Lexington Ave. It’s rich with history (was built in 1899) and measures 2,160 sq ft. The Brooklyn pad sold for a nice $565,000 last December.
