Actor Chris Tucker, who played Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour film series has just sold his home in the exclusive Mulholland Park gated community for $2.1 million netting him a $1 million profit.

The 6,300 square foot home was purchased by Tucker in 1996, and has five en suite bedrooms with two additional bathrooms and three fireplaces. The gourmet kitchen features three ovens, a walk in pantry, bar and breakfast nook.

Outside there is a pool and spa with spacious views of the city lights and the community’s private golf course.

Chris Tucker became a frequent stand up performer on Def Comedy Jam in the 1990s. He became well known after the 1995 film Friday alongside Ice Cube, and then appeared in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element before beginning work on the highly successful Rush Hour films.

Tucker is best known for playing opposite Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour movie franchise and there is a rumor that there is a fourth installment in the works. Tucker played James Carter, an abrasive wise-cracking detective. After the commercial success of the first Rush Hour film, he held out for a $20 million salary for Rush Hour 2 and was paid $25 million salary for Rush Hour 3.

Chris Tucker is good friends with fellow Rush Hour star Jackie Chan, and was also close friends with singer, Michael Jackson. Tucker’s career was also influenced by Jackson, as he is seen dancing and singing to Jackson’s song “Don’t Stop till You Get Enough” i a scene in Rush Hour 2.

Tucker participated in a PBS documentary on the genetic makeup of African Americans.

Chris Tucker is scheduled to host the 2013 BET awards this June at the Nokia Theater L.A. Live.
