There are a handful of record producers, music engineers, and sound mixers out in today’s society who continue to try and tear up the floor. But, not many can say that they’ve worked with the King of Pop. Multi-plat producer, engineer, and mixer Brian Malouf can say that he has, though. Michael Jackson’s not the only artist Malouf has worked with. His clientele is very diverse; Madonna, Queen, Pearl Jam, Celine Dion, Kid Rock, Dave Matthews Band, Tokio Hotel, The Muppets, and most recently, Barbra Streisand. So what’s new with Brian then? He owns Cookie Jar Recording, which is stationed in the same city as his home (Sherman Oaks).
Malouf is one of those who has the privilege of working from home. And so that privilege is still to be had. His 3 bed and 3 bath home on Addison St didn’t sell last July, so more days of working in PJ’s and having white russians infront of a Mac are ahead of Brian. His casa is very homey, and has quite a lot for a 2,599 sq ft. It has two stories, a nice kitchen, breakfast area, fitness room, reading/study room, and of course, a studio where Malouf works his magic.
