15 time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys, producer husband Swizz Beatz and their brand new baby, Egypt are buying Eddie Murphy’s $12 million dollar estate in Englewood, New Jersey. The estate was first put on the market seven years ago with an initial price of $30 million. Even though Murphy made major renovations in 2009 to try to get the estate sold, he wound up having to slash the price to $15 million shortly after.

The 25,000 square foot mansion has 7 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, an indoor and outdoor pool, bowling alley, marble fireplaces and a private recording studio. The estate sits on 10 acres that include a tennis court, racquetball court, playground and 5 car garage. Another selling point is that the estate is located in Englewood, which is just 10-20 minutes away from Manhattan.

Being somewhat of a real estate investor, Keys bought Lenny Kravitz’s 16 room loft in 2010 for $14.5 million and put it back on the market shortly after for $18 million, so the question is raised whether she plans to live in the estate or turn the bargain into another nice profit.

Alicia is planning to release her fifth studio album “Girl on Fire” next month in November. The first release “New Day” didn’t rank as high as people thought it would, charting at only 73 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Alicia Keys got her start in show business when she had a guest appearance on the The Cosby Show at the age of four when she played a sleepover guest of Rudy Huxtable in the episode titled “Slumber Party”. She attended Professional Performing Arts School and graduated at the age of 16 as valedictorian. Her music career started in 2001, when she was named Best New Artist of that year and has continued with a string of awards and number one hits.
