Adam Levine, lead singer for Maroon 5 and celebrity judge on “The Voice” has reportedly just bought a lavish $4.8 million dollar gated estate in the Hollywood Hills. The historic “Benedict House”, as it is known, was exactly what Levine was looking for. The 6,500 square foot home has 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms was built in 1940 and still has the classic look of homes from that era. With high ceilings and wood floors the home also boasts skylights, swimming pool and a lighted tennis court. The 3.6 acres of land also includes a detached guest house,  and gives Levine enough space to stretch out if he chooses to increase the size of his new home.

The lavish new estate is quite a step up from the one bedroom he rented for $800 a month while sharing a house during the early days of Maroon 5. But that seems like a long time ago for Levine and Maroon 5 who have catchy hits like “She Will Be Loved”, “Makes Me Wonder” and last year’s number one hit “Moves Like Jagger,” which have won the group three Grammys and sold more than 15 million records.

Currently one of the celebrity judges on “The Voice” along with Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton. The four artists of the reality talent show coach new up and coming artists to compete in a series of phases, where one of them is eventually crowned the winner that will receive a $100,000 dollar record deal.

Levine is a spokesperson for ADHD, which he was medically diagnosed as having when he was a teenager, in 2011 he launched an educational campaign to raise awareness of ADHD, titled “Own It”.

He is also an outspoken supporter of LGBT rights also in support of his openly gay brother. In 2011, he made a video on Maroon 5’s official Youtube account in support of the “It Gets Better” project. Also in support of LGBT rights, in January 2012, he announced that Maroon 5 had changed the location of their post Grammy Awards show because of the “unnamed Los Angeles restaurant’s backing of Proposition 8”, which proposes only the recognition of a marriage between a man and a woman as legally binding.
